Today is Tuesday, March 23, 2010. I find it very intimidating as a new retiree to learn a new way of doing things. Learning new terminology and what is and is not appropriate on the Internet.
The Internet is a wonderful way of communicating, but can be very difficult if you are afraid of something new. Being tied to old ways and ideas can stifle your understanding of this new technology. Baby Boomers are hands on types of individuals who did things the "correct way" at the "correct time" and for the "right reason." We had no other choices because to make an error could mean the end of your career. There were no delete keys or editing modifications for the regular person, you had to do it right the first time or it could take days or weeks to fix.
Baby Boomers could spell and construct sentences properly and did not rely on a spell check, which is very temperamental. Learning new things can be fun and no so intimidating when you are willing to try. Well, I'm trying and I find it to be easier and easier. If I can just get that picture of my old typewriter out of mind I might do better. Oh well, I'm having an Andy Rooney moment. C-ya! E
